What this tool measures, what it doesn't, and what no tool can honestly promise.

No guarantee of citation or ranking

AnswerRank measures whether AI answer engines can read and understand your page. It cannot make them cite you. Which sources an AI names depends on authority, topical fit, freshness, licensing agreements and internal ranking systems that no external tool can observe or influence. A perfect score removes mechanical reasons to skip you; it does not buy you a mention.

The same applies to search rankings. Nothing here should be read as a promise of traffic, position or revenue.

What the audit actually sees

The engine fetches a single page and reads the HTML your server returns, without executing JavaScript — which is how most AI crawlers behave. That is the correct measurement for this purpose, but it means the audit may report content as missing when a human sees it fine in a browser. That difference is the point of the render-dependency check, not a fault in it.

Results reflect the moment of the request. Sites change, robots.txt files get edited, and CDNs serve different responses to different regions. Re-run the audit rather than relying on an old report.

AI-generated recommendations

Written fix suggestions are produced by a language model. Their priority ordering is computed by our own scoring, not by the model, but the wording itself can occasionally be imprecise or over-confident. Treat every recommendation as a starting point to verify, not an instruction to apply blindly — particularly anything touching robots.txt, canonical tags or redirects, where a careless change can remove pages from search entirely.

Third-party sites

You are responsible for having the right to audit any URL you submit. Auditing a site you do not own or administer may be restricted by that site's terms of service. We fetch pages politely and identify ourselves as a normal browser client, but the responsibility for what you request is yours.

External links

Guides on this site may link to external documentation and tools. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or accuracy.

Not professional advice

This site provides technical information about web publishing. It is not legal, financial or business advice. Decisions about your site, your content strategy or your budget remain yours.

Availability

The tool is free and provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. It may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable, and some sites block automated requests entirely — in which case the audit will tell you it could not reach them rather than invent a result.
